Root & Rise Therapy and Wellness, LLC was created with a simple belief: you deserve to feel safe, heard, and accepted while navigating life's challenges.

Therapy is not about changing who you are. It's about creating space to understand yourself more deeply, recognize the patterns that may no longer serve you, and discover new ways of moving through life.

Through a compassionate, client-centered approach, therapy meets you where you are without judgment and without pressure to have everything figured out.

Root & Rise Mental Health Therapy and Wellness provides therapy for older teens, young adults, and adults throughout the state of Missouri.

* For older teens, a consultation is required to determine if virtual therapy is a supportive fit base on your teen’s individual needs.

A safe place to come as you are.

About Me

My name is Lisa, and for more than 22 years I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families as a mental health professional in schools, home‑visiting programs, and private practice. These experiences have shown me how deeply a person’s environment shapes their wellbeing, and I carry that understanding into every session. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri in 2024 and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri.

I specialize in working with older teens (16–18), college students, young adults, and adults who are navigating trauma, adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, women’s issues, life transitions, and grief. My goal is to offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and genuinely seen.

How I Work

I focus on gently exploring the childhood experiences, trauma histories, and life circumstances that shape how we think, feel, and move through the world. I believe our early environments—and the moments that challenged us—leave lasting impressions on our emotions, beliefs, and patterns of coping. Therapy is a place to understand these roots with curiosity rather than judgment.

What to Expect

In our first few sessions, you can expect a calm, steady pace focused on getting to know you—your story, your strengths, and what feels heavy right now. We’ll explore what brings you in, clarify what you hope to understand or change, and begin building a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, safety, and authenticity.

What Makes My Practice Different

My practice centers the connection between your early experiences and your present‑day emotional world. I offer a deeply attuned, non‑judgmental space where your internal experiences matter, and where healing is approached with compassion, curiosity, and respect for your pace. You’ll have my full attention and a space where your voice is honored.

Why I Love This Work

I am passionate about helping people feeling understood, grounded, and empowered. Walking alongside clients as they reconnect with themselves and move forward toward clarity and self-kindness is one of the greatest privileges of my career.
